Ranard, Bettejoy E.
Bettejoy E. Ranard, 79, of Marion, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at her home. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Lynda (Joe), Mark (Cindy), Wade, Virginia, Tracy, Jess and Anthony; uncle Bud; many grandchildren; and Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Virginia, Beverly and Cathy; and one brother, Bobby.
Bettejoy was born Feb. 28, 1930, the daughter of Ken and Nellie (Davis) Clarke, in Chicago, Ill. She married Jess A. Ranard in 1948. Bettejoy retired from Phelans in 1996, and later pursued a business venture with her son, Wade. Together they opened Total Eclipse Tan, where she was co-owner, until retiring in 2007.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bettejoy's memory.
