McVay, Helen Marie Kokes
Helen Marie Kokes McVay, 89, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, with the Rev. Brian Dellaert officiating.
Helen was born March 3, 1922, to Anna and Joseph Kokes in Minneapolis, Minn. On Dec. 27, 1941, she married Wayne L. McVay in Kahoka, Mo.
Surviving are her children, Bob (Gloria) McVay, Sandy (Jerry) Schulte, Nancy Schmuecker (Gary Stallman) and Dick (Monette) McVay; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Edwin (Janet) Sumner and Charles (Barbara) Sumner.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Billie Anne; two sisters and two brothers.
Helen loved to play Bingo and spend time with her family. She made the best broasted chicken and was one of the biggest Cardinals fans.
