Country in need of better management
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Thanks to Fred Hubler (Sept. 28 guest column) for articulating the main reason our country has been struggling so desperately these past five years. Legislators who create laws that ultimately harm the general welfare of our society need to be voted out. The mindset of liberals is that we can spend money we don't have and there will be no consequences. However, as the 2007-2008 economic meltdown continues to demonstrate, our country is not immune to problems that cause widespread pain. Taxpayers' money has been grossly mismanaged. Because of our astronomical federal deficit and lack of budget and vision, the United States is in danger of collapse like Greece and other nations.
Mitt Romney is uniquely qualified to lead at this perilous time. He has experience balancing budgets and understands the importance of living within one's means. He's a successful businessman. As governor, he eliminated a $3 billion deficit and replaced it with a $2.3 billion rainy-day fund, all while working with an 85 percent Democratic majority. He rescued the mismanaged 2002 Winter Olympics from fiscal mismanagement. We both believe it immoral to pass national debt to our children.
We desperately need a president who knows how to communicate with our senators and representatives, will lead to consensus and a budget that will address our debt, and help our economy regain its former health. Please vote for Romney.
