MARION - Linn-Mar High School will have two new entrances and a renovated kitchen when the building opens for fall classes next week.
Linn-Mar Superintendent Quintin Shepherd told The Gazette this week that all three areas, part of a $30 million renovation project, will be operational when classes resume Aug. 23.
Work on some classrooms and hallways will continue into the school year, with completion of the entire project scheduled for January.
Work on another project, expansion of the cafeteria at Oak Ridge Middle School, is wrapping up. Completion is scheduled for the end of the first week of school.
The Linn-Mar school board, also meeting this week, voted to give Shepherd a 2.5 percent pay increase plus an additional one-time increase of of $2,000.
The second-year superintendent's base salary for the upcoming school year will be $220,375. The action followed a performance review last month.
