Intruding wall cruel to Palestinians
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jan. 10, 2010 11:46 pm
The Dec. 6 guest column, “One wall down, one to go,” by Patrick Hitchon, discusses the wall between Israel and the West Bank. As the wall stretched 436 miles, it intrudes on Palestinian land by seven kilometers. To the United Nations and me, this is illegal and cruel. The Israelis are ripping Palestinian families apart and isolating the land for farmers. Now Palestinian refugees are living in U.N.-supported camps. Until this problem is resolved, there will be no peace in the Middle East.
