JANICE TEETER
Marion
Janice Kay Teeter of Marion passed away at
her home on Friday,
Dec. 12, 2014.
Janice was born Nov. 1, 1938, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Harold C. Teeter and Mabel G. (Dalbey) Teeter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Marvin K. Teeter; and her longtime friend, Ruth Heinsius.
Janice graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1956, moved to Cedar Rapids and worked at Rockwell Collins until her retirement in 1993.
Jan will be remembered for her love of nature, parks and birds; for her talents at crocheting and needlework; for her love of the garden and yard; and for her love of Hawkeye sports. Being an avid reader, she could always be found with her nose in a book. Jan always looked forward to getting together with those she loved, especially her times with those she had worked with. Neighbors were important to Jan and she developed deep friendships in every neighborhood she lived in.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service or visitation. A celebration of Ruth and Jan's lives will be held in the spring at a date to be later determined.
If you are so inclined, donations may be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society or the Indian Creek Nature Center.
Jan will be dearly missed by those fortunate enough to call her "friend."
