Phillips, Dorothy Jean
Dorothy Jean Phillips, 88, of Iowa City, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Briarwood Health Care Center in Iowa City. Private family services are planned. Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City is handling arrangements.
Jean was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Seymour, Iowa, the daughter of Worth and Helena (Hutchens) Miller.
She is survived by her husband, Russell of Iowa City; her children, Craig Phillips (Jude) of South Bend, Ind., Carla Bittner of Des Moines, Michael Phillips (Vicki) of Plainview, Texas and David Phillips (Lori) of Iowa City; grandchildren, Courtney Patterson, Stacey Ehle, Kyle Phillips and Jessica Beck; and great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Hailey and Alex Patterson.
Her parents; a sister, Doris, and a son-in-law, Richard Bittner, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
