Hauser, Miriam Ann
Miriam Ann Hauser, 87, of Marion, earned her angel wings on Friday, May 3, 2013. She was surrounded with love from family and dear friends. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, with the Rev. David O'Connor officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, with a vigil at 7 p.m.
Miriam Ann Yirkovsky was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Calmar, Iowa, the daughter of James and Myrtle (Belonga) Yirkovsky. In her early years she ran her own beauty shop, and then worked in the kitchen at The Abbe Center. Throughout her entire life, she loved to travel, make crafts, and watch her children and grandchildren grow. Her strongest devotions were her faith and family. Miriam was an avid sports fan, who loved watching “her Cubbies.”
Miriam is survived by her daughters, Lori Hauser, Lanette Hauser and Lisa Beck, all of Marion; her grandchildren, Desiree (Owen) Rouse, Leah and Lindsey Beck, Katelyn and Kyler Hauser; one great-granddaughter, Alexis Vore; her sisters, D. Patricia (Wayne) Bridge, Edna (Kenneth) Hunter and Shirley (Jerry) Ottaway; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, James, Kenneth, Darrell, Marvin and Ronald; and two nieces, Samantha and Barbara.
The family would like to thank the wonderful ladies of Care Initiatives Hospice and the outstanding community of Willow Gardens Care Center.
