ROSEMARY FERGUS
Cedar Rapids
Rosemary Fergus, 92, died Aug. 8, 2015, at Mercy Hallmar in Cedar Rapids. Per Rosemary's wishes, her body was donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine. A Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Sept. 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, with a time to share remembrances of Rosemary afterward. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date.
Survivors include her brother, Ray, and sister-in-law, Lois; and eight nieces and nephews and their spouses and children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward; a sister, Betty; a brother-in-law, Rill Rupp; and a nephew.
Rosemary was known for her cheerfulness, smiles, dependability, and a dedication to help the less fortunate, while seeking to discern and follow the will of God. Over the years she pursued those things through teaching, friendliness, volunteering and anonymous good works, while following a quiet spiritual life.
In lieu of formal donations, please remember Rosemary through prayers, Masses offered or passing on a random act of kindness in her memory.
As Rosemary's extended family, we want to recognize her numerous friends and their kindnesses over time. We also want to thank the staffs at Mercy Medical Center, Hallmar and Hospice of Mercy, all of which extended exceptional understanding, friendship, and support to her. All of your friendly, personal and professional actions made a major difference in Rosemary's life and to those of us concerned with her welfare. Thank you to all.
