Kenneth H. Davis, 90, of
Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at the Dennis
and Donna Oldorf Hospice
House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Burial, with military rites, is at Cedar Memorial Park
Cemetery. Friends may call
at Cedar Memorial Park
Funeral Home from 4:30 to
7:30 p.m. Friday.
Kenneth was born May 23, 1926, to Ross and Rose Davis. He was born and raised on farms in Delaware County. He attended Delaware School and Oneida Consolidated School. After graduation in
1944, he immediately joined the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1944 to 1947. He
served on a LST ship in the Pacific Ocean. On Dec. 7,
1947, he married Arbutus L. Milroy. They were married for 68 years. Together they had five children. They spent their married life in Cedar Rapids, where he was employed at Iowa Manufacturing Co. for 43 years. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for 58
years.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Arbutus "Bootie";
sons, Dennis (Pat) Davis and Scott (Birgit) Davis; daughter, Roxanne "Roxi" (John) McCrane; 11 grandchildren;
14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Walter (Barb) and Robert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons,
Kenny Ray and Daniel; great-grandson, Blake Stark; two brothers, Raymond and Dewain; and a sister, Lillian.
Kenneth was a quiet, loving, kind and thoughtful
man. He loved to play cards, bowl and travel, especially to Europe, where he went several times.
He will be missed by all.
Memorial donations may be given to the Hospice
House of Mercy in Hiawatha in Ken's name.
