Koberg, Pastor Sergei S.
Pastor Sergei S. Koberg
1/8/1937 - 5/10/2013
Resident of San Ramon
Sergei “Kob” Koberg, 76, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, surrounded by family. Sergei was born in Minnesota, the son of Pastor Elmer and Inez Koberg. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo., and went on to become pastor at St. Philip Lutheran Church in Dublin, Calif., where he served for 45 years.
Sergei is survived by his loving wife, Ann, of 52 years; their children, Debbie and Craig Meier of Dublin, Tim Koberg of Dublin and Kevin Koberg of Pleasanton, C alif.; and his precious granddaughter, Brooke Meier. He is also survived by his sister, Fanchon Crane of Marion, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Sergei was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Koberg.
Pastor Koberg enjoyed reading, traveling, teaching and sports, but the true joys in his life were his family and serving his congregation at St. Philip. Upon his retirement in 2008, he was able to achieve his dream of authoring two books. Sergei had a pastor's heart.
A celebration of his life will be 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Philip Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be made to St. Philip in his name.
Condolences:
