Sommerfelt, Ronald William

Ronald William Sommerfelt, 73, of Tripoli, died from complications during surgery on Thursday, July 25 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Carolyn Sommerfelt of Tripoli; three sons, Lelann (Machelle) Sommerfelt of rural Jesup, Darrin (Renee) Sommerfelt of Landstuhl, Germany, and Derrek Sommerfelt of rural Tripoli; one daughter, Donell (Dave) Kelling of Waverly; three grandsons, Alex Kelling, Joshua and Philip Sommerfelt; one brother, Loren (Sharon) Sommerfelt of rural Sumner; his sister, Eileen (Jerry) Jaschen of Dallas Center; and a brother-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Foelske of Janesville.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and his mother- and father-in-law.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Crane Creek, rural Tripoli, with Pastor Norman Bauer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Public visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to either the family, St. John's Lutheran-Crane Creek or American Cancer Hope Lodge in Rochester, Minn.
