Greenland, Helen
Helen Greenland, 86, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011. A visitation will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Private interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted with Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Ben) Peiffer of Mount Pleasant and Shela (Mike) Garcia of Champaign, Ill.; grandchildren, Marcus Myers, Zachariah and Elizabeth Peiffer; a sister, Evelyn Parker of Fort Madison; and great-grandchildren, Chloe and Vaughn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey; and four brothers.
Helen was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Ottumwa, to Tillet and Lena Blanchard. She married Dewey Greenland there on May 15, 1946. He died in 1998.
