Stuefen, Betty Louise
Betty Louise Stuefen, 83, of Covington, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brenda Peconge presiding. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, near Covington. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Betty was born March 19, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Earl and Grace (Stambaugh) Seltrecht. She married S. Robert Stuefen on June 1, 1946, in Marion. Betty worked at Rockwell Collins for many years while raising her family. She was a very active member of the church, including the Book Club, Communion Care, DUO Quilt Group, Women's Bible Study, Adult Sunday school, as well as loving to sing in the choir. Betty enjoyed fishing, mowing, camping, Boggle and board games, listening and playing music with her family. She loved spending time with her family including all the grandkids' activities.
Betty is survived by her children, Kelly (Terry) Moritz and Stephanie (Terry) Lange, all of Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Connie Stuefen of Covington; grandchildren, Allen, Brian, Greg, Amanda, Sarah, Adam, Kyle, August and Parker; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandsons; a brother, Earl (Pat) Seltrecht; and a sister, Darlene (Lester) Stuefen, all of Covington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Neal Stuefen and Marshall Stuefen; and a daughter, Debbie Castleberry Largeteau.
Memorials may be directed to either Holy Redeemer Lutheran or to the family.
