Vinton-Shellsburg, Benton, Williamsburg place three each on all-Wamac team

Vinton-Shellsburg placed three players on the all-Wamac West Division boys' basketball team, including unanimous picks Grant Sagan and Max Kearns.
Both are juniors and were joined on the first team by another junior, Max Griffith.
Benton Community and Williamsburg both had three first-team picks on the girls' West team and Mount Vernon placed two on the East team.
Center Point-Urbana had two first-team picks on the boys' West team - senior Colin Kramer and junior Josh Jirak, both unanimous. Marion's Jared Huhndorf also was unanimous and was joined on the first team by Mick Donohoe of Williamsburg and Clay Miller of of Clear Creek Amana.
Mount Vernon had two-first team picks on the East Division team - seniors Jack Keleher and Jake Timm - and both were unanimous picks. TJ Lake of Western Dubuque also was a unanimous pick and was joined on the first team by teammate Cameron James, Solon senior Tuner Wentzien, Maquoketa senior Peyton River, Dyersville Beckman senior Todd Manternach and Anamosa junior Spencer Barns.
Madison Weekly, Kelsey Brecht and Sara Petrzelka of Benton Community and Mackenzie Bigbee, Paige Greiner and Lindsay Schlabaugh of Williamsburg highlight the girls' West team. Kennedy Salow of Center Point-Urbana and Dani Peyton of Marion also earned first-team honors. Weekly, Bigbee, Salow and Peyton were unanimous picks.
Mount Vernon's Liz Skotowski and Miranda Chapman were unanimous first-team picks on the East girls' team. along with Madalyn Welty of Western Dubuque, Rylee Smith of Solon and Meghan McClimon of DeWitt Central. Beckman's Jenna Lansing, West Delaware's Krista Briggs and Western Dubuque's Paige Koerperich also earned first-team East honors.
Vinton-Shellsburg's Joe Johnson was the West Division boys' Coach of the Year, and Maquoketa's Matt Uthoff earned the East honor. Benton's Laurie Donald (West) and Mount Vernon's Bob Kintzel (East) were the girls' honorees.
