Darline F. Horn
Winterset
Darline Frances (Hootman) Horn, 87, of Winterset, Iowa, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Care Center South in Winterset. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at First United Methodist Church in Winterset, with the Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. The body has been cremated, with the cremains being interred in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Douds, at a later date.
Darline was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Van Buren County, Iowa. She grew up in the Douds area and graduated from Fairfield High School. She married Thomas G. Horn in 1946 and later divorced in 1976. She arrived in Winterset in 1960. She worked for JCPenney in Winterset and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Darline was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Emma (Zuehlke) Hootman; sisters, Helen Finney and Norma Dingman; and daughter-in-law, Robin Horn.
She is survived by her four sons, Thomas (Susan) of Adel, Richard (Beverly) of Sarasota, Fla., Darrell (Elizabeth) of West Des Moines and Eric (Maureen) of Houston, Texas; her beloved 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
