WALTER KRAFT
West Amana
Walter H. Kraft, 82, of West Amana, died Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at his home. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Kloster Funeral Home in Marengo. The Rev. Travis Borkosky will officiate.
A memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his wife, Erika of West Amana; two sons, Tom and Rudy Kraft, both of West Amana; a daughter, Heidy Edwards (Ted) of Amana; a grandchild, Sandy Sutherby (Dan) of Walford; and a brother, Werner Kraft of Heilbrohn, Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kraft.
Walter Horst Kraft was born in Weiler, Germany, on Jan. 17, 1932, the son of Christopher Kraft and Louise Miller Kraft. He received his education in Germany and then attended trade school. He and Erika Lieber were united in marriage on Sept. 1, 1955, in Toronto, Canada.
Walter was a beautiful furniture builder, and also a contractor for many years.
Walter especially enjoyed photography and traveling to different countries.
