Enter our fall photo contest

Capture the fall colors around Cedar Lake and submit your images in the first-ever Cedar Lake photo contest.

The competition is sponsored by The Gazette, the Linn Area Photo Club and Friends of Cedar Lake.

Awards will be made for first, second and third place and a best-of-show winner will be named.

There are some rules:

First, the photos must be of the Cedar Lake area just north of downtown Cedar Rapids.

Second, there are four categories to enter: nature, sky, people and wildlife. Up to two images per photographer may be submitted.

The deadline for submitting entries is midnight Nov. 4.

Photos will be judged by the Linn Area Photo Club. Winners will be notified by Nov. 14, and announced publicly at the Nov. 19 Festival of Trees.
