Vickroy, David Lee
David Lee Vickroy, 51, of Des Moines, formerly of Marion, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo, Ill. There will be no funeral service. The family will greet friends from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Gerry Hearn; a sister, Jean (George) Hampson of Marion; a brother, Alan (Teresa) Vickroy of Unionville, Iowa; two nieces, Sheryl and Stacy Winistorfer; and a great-niece, Ella Kuchenbaker.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Dean Vickroy.
David was born Sept. 11, 1957, the son of Marvin Dean and Gerry (Dailey) Vickroy, in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated from Marion High School and served in the U.S. Army.
A memorial fund has been established in David's memory.
