Center Point-Urbana grabbed its first lead with three minutes left in the game and earned a 37-29 win over Dyersville Beckman last night at Center Point, snapping a 39-game losing streak.CPU used a balance effort powered by Danielle Pohl's eight points. Carly Jacobs had 12 rebounds to lead the Stormin' Pointers, whose losing streak dated back to the 2006-07 season.CPU improved to 1-2 overall and Dyersville Beckman dropped to 1-3.
C.R. PRAIRIE 43, DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 29 - C.R. Prairie outscored Dubuque Hempstead 17-6 in the fourth quarter as the Hawks won at home.Laiken Whitters canned two 3-pointers and finished with 11 points for the Hawks (2-2).
C.R. XAVIER 52, DUBUQUE SENIOR 43 - Colleen Bouchard scored 12 points and Caitlin Kray added 10 points as Cedar Rapids Xavier won at Dubuque. The Saints (4-1, 2-0) used a 17-5 fourth quarter to pull out the win on the road.
LINN-MAR 72, CEDAR FALLS 33 - Kayla Klopfenstein scored 17 points including four 3-pointers and led four players in double figures as top-ranked Linn-Mar won at home. Jaime Printy scored 15 points, while DJ Norman and Kiah Stokes each added 14 points for the Lions (4-0).
MARION 72, WEST DELAWARE 32 - Morgan Paige scored 19 points and Sam Rinehart added 17 points and 10 rebounds as Marion rolled at home. Paige added seven steals and seven assists as Marion jumped out to a 47-12 halftime lead.
IOWA CITY HIGH 72, WATERLOO EAST 40 - Virginia Johnson tossed in 36 points as the Little Hawks (3-1) jumped to a 28-7 first-quarter lead and won at home.
C.R. JEFFERSON 56, IOWA CITY WEST 38 - Amanda Burger scored 20 points to lead Cedar Rapids Jefferson to a Mississippi Valley Conference win at Iowa City West last night. Britani Nolkemper added 10 points for the J-Hawks (4-0, 2-0 Mississippi Valley). Emma Krieger-Kittle scored 14 points to lead the Women of Troy (3-1, 1-1).
DUBUQUE WAHLERT 55, C.R. KENNEDY 42 - Claire Jill scored 13 points as Dubuque Wahlert won at home.Mariah Duke paced Kennedy with 11 points.
IOWA CITY REGINA 66, WEST LIBERTY 58 - Ali Browning scored 20 points and added 15 rebounds to lead Iowa City Regina to the win at home. Tory Beaver added 13 points while Shannon Donahue tallied 11 points for the Regals (2-0). Taylor Feldman paced West Liberty with a game-high 34 points.
VINTON-SHELLSBURG 62, MOUNT VERNON 56 - Kelsey Beatty tossed in 24 points as Vinton-Shellsburg placed three players in double figures and won at home.Allison Emrich tallied 17 points and Morgan Merchant added 12 for the Vikettes (3-1).Amanda Platte paced the Mustangs with 14 points.
