AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Scott Benson of Robins, Iowa has a brother-in-law who wants to see golf tournaments, not practice rounds.
Benson's brother-in-law, from Sioux Falls, S.D., entered the Masters' lottery for practice round tickets and won four for this year. But when he realized that didn't included a round of the actual tournament, he asked Benson if he wanted the tickets.
Benson said this was hi's response: "Are you kidding?"
He and three of friends from Cedar Rapids were on the Augusta National grounds Wednesday. One, Cedar Rapids City-Am veteran John Pelechek, got an autographed golf ball tossed to him by Zach Johnson.
"It's unbelievable. It's heaven," Benson said.
Ted Ebertsch and Duane Peterson were the others who made the trip. Asked his reply to Benson's offer to buzz down to Augusta for a day, Peterson said "I didn't turn it down."
Also here Wednesday were John and Donna Negro of Marion. John had been here a few times before. It was Donna's first visit.
"I love it. I absolutely love it," she said. "It's so different than what you see on TV. The undulation, the beauty -- you just cannot see the beauty of the whole course on TV.
"This is just absolutely a dream come true."
