Kennedy topples Prairie: Boys Prep BB Round up

Bryton Heisler scored 17 points and Brendon Manning added 15 to lead a balanced Cedar Rapids Kennedy attack over Cedar Rapids Prairie, 71-38, last night at Kennedy.
Cole Murdock and Derrick Diggins chipped in 10 points apiece for the Cougars (7-3, 4-2 MVC).
Max Drahos scored a team-leading 13 points for Prairie (5-5, 2-5 MVC).
MARION 57, INDEPENDENCE 40
- Craig Engle netted 12 points and Deshaun Quinn scored 10 in the Indian's win at home. Marion improves to 8-3 overall, and 4-2 in the WaMaC.
DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 51, C.R. XAVIER 48 (OT)
- The Saints (4-5, 2-4 MVC) knocked down 10 treys in the first half and went into halftime with a 32-20 edge, but Hempstead (7-1, 5-1) stormed back in the second half and overtime behind Avery Butler's 18 points at Xavier.
The Mustangs made nine of 10 free throws in the game and Xavier only went to the line twice, making both. Adam McDermott scored 18 and had eight rebounds, and Michael Mims added 17 points.
CEDAR FALLS 64, C.R. JEFFERSON 34
– Keeon Johnson led all scorers with 22 points as the Tigers beat the J-Hawks in Cedar Rapids. A.J. Green scored 10 points for Cedar Falls.
Adam Van Oort led the J-Hawks with 11 points.
PRINCE OF PEACE 57, CVC 41
- Cedar Valley Christian scuffled, but was hurt by fouls in the second half, and fell Tuesday in Clinton.
Tom Scorggs had 10 points and 15 rebounds for CVC (0-9). The Huskies committed 15 second-half fouls.
Stevon Morgan led Prince of Peace (2-9) with 11 points.
LINN-MAR 44, DUBUQUE SENIOR 37
– Nic Uhlir led the No. 7 Linn-Mar Lions (8-1, 6-0 MVC) with 13 points in Dubuque.
Senior's Luke McDonnell led all scorers with 16.
C.R. WASHINGTON 71, WATERLOO WEST 52
- Jared Printy scored 17 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Warriors in Waterloo.
Laveechie Williams added 12 points for Washington (4-5, 2-4 MVC), while Steven Kramer scored 11 to go along with five assists.
Lincoln Conrey finished with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double for Waterloo West (3-5, 2-4).
