Lindsey, Agnes E.
Agnes E. Lindsey, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Nov. 10, 2010, at her home following a short illness. Private graveside services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Phil Jorgenson of Our Savior's Lutheran Church will officiate. A gathering to celebrate Agnes' life will be held from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. today at the Cedar Memorial Park Family Center and Library.
Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Rowe and husband Barry of Madison, Wis.; grandchildren, Diana Ryan and husband Jim of Cedar Rapids, Rachelle Hansen of Ames, Maria Iannone of Davenport, Anastasia Lindsey of Cedar Rapids, and Brian Brady of Cedar Rapids; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Angela, Kylie, Nathaniel, Drew, Nicholas, Zachary and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; son, Dean; daughter, Kristin Brady; and her siblings, Roscoe Pilgrim, Lois Fillenworth and Wayne Pilgrim.
Agnes Elizabeth Lindsey was born March 30, 1918, in Oregon City, Ore., the daughter of Clyde C. and Bessie C. (Houser) Pilgrim. She was united in marriage to Robert Ballou Lindsey on June 12, 1937, in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death in 1981. Agnes was the owner and operator of Fabrics and Fashions for several years and was an accomplished seamstress and tailor. She also was a teacher for night classes through the Cedar Rapids Community Schools. She was a member of Waltonian Archery Club and Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Agnes had a life long passion of sewing and all types of fabric work. Above all, her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family.
Memorial donations in Agnes' honor may be made to Camp Courageous.
