A good weekend for Iowa football recruiting
Mike Hlas Dec. 19, 2010 3:33 pm
A rough December for Iowa's football program took an upturn this weekend with the apparent verbal commitments of a top high school running backs from Illinois and a receiver from Texas.
Hawkeyeinsider.com and Hawkeyereport.com work this stuff hard and well, so go there for far more extensive details. I'll give you nutshells.
1. Rodney Coe, 6-foot-3, 240-pounds. Running back. Edwardsville, Ill., not far from St. Louis. Coe is one of those four-star guys. I watched a couple videos of him on Youtube, and he looks like he has good balance and speed to go with the power you'd expect from a back his size.
Hawkeyenation.com has some videos of Coe for your viewing right here.
2. Jacob Hillyer, 6-4, 190 pounds. Somerset, Texas, near San Antonio. This year he had 87 catches for 1,648 yards and 18 touchdowns.
"They need a receiver to come in and play their freshman year and they think I'm the guy that can come in and do it," Hillyer told HawkeyeReport in this story.
