No charges expected in Delaware County missing persons case
Oct. 17, 2011 12:33 pm
The Delaware County Sheriff's Department is not planning to file charges in a weekend missing persons case, officials said Monday.
Authorities in Brownsburg, Indiana located 6-year-old Gregory Hansel and his grandmother, 56-year-old Nancy Sullivan on Sunday night. The two were nearly seven hours away from home. They were both said to be in good condition.
Hansel's mother reported the two missing from Colesburg after they failed to return home from a shopping trip Saturday afternoon.
Police found Sullivan's car at Tauke Motors in Dyersville on Sunday. Delaware County Sheriff John LeClere said Sullivan left her car at Tauke Motors, where she rented a car and drove to Indiana.
LeClere said authorities in Brownsburg stopped to help Sullivan and Hansel, who were having car problems. That's when police discovered Hansel and Sullivan were listed as missing persons.
LeClere said Sullivan and Hansel are expected to return to Colesburg Monday.
