Young, Ronald Dean

Ronald Dean Young, 52, of Cedar Rapids, passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday Dec. 2, 2012. There are no services planned. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.

Ronald is survived by his son, Ron Young; and daughter, Erin Young, both of Cedar Rapids; his mother Florence (Tom) Ritchie of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Norman of Marion and Mark and Rick (Sue) Young, both of Cedar Rapids; a niece, Brittany (Brad) Stroud of Cedar Rapids; and a nephew, Mitch Loesel of Cedar Rapids.

His father, Ronald Dale Young; and grandparents, Dale and Madge Young, preceded him in death.

Ronald was born Dec. 14, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ronald and Florence Filling Young. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978. He was employed for more than 13 years by Per Mar Security.

He enjoyed his work for Per Mar and the people he met along the way. He was a decent man who cared strongly for his family and always stepped up to help in any way he could. He was a big Cubs and Hawkeye fan and a long-term LA Dodgers fan. He loved watching sports with his son and nephew and spending time with his cats.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
