Firefighters now say that two people were killed in a Columbus Junction fire on Saturday.
Authorities say a second victim was located Saturday afternoon as the building was searched. Firefighters discovered the first victim was trapped inside the building as they arrived to fight the blaze.
The fire started at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday along Main Street. A city council member told our crew on the scene that the building involved in the fire housed six to eight apartment units.
Two other people were injured. One was flown to an Iowa City hospital; the other person refused treatment.
Authorities have not release the victims' names or information about what caused the blaze, which remains under investigation.
