Beverly Price Torbert, 85, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Britton, S.D., died Friday, May 16, 2014, at
Living Center East nursing facility following a long illness. A visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her children, Nancy Jo Torbert of Sartell, Minn., Paul (Ann) Price Torbert of Marion and Shawn (Daniel) Maureen Doty of Montezuma; a sister, Evelyn Jean Witham of Aberdeen, S.D.; and five grandchildren, Kenton, Kendra and Kurtis Doty, David Torbert and Walker Torbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and a sister, Ione Curr.
Beverly was born Oct. 6, 1928, in Britton, S.D., to Berthe Hustel Price and Earl Robert Price. She married James Godfrey Torbert on Sept. 5, 1948, in Britton. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. After high school education in Britton, Beverly worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone Co.
Beverly enjoyed swimming, camping, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Living Center East.
