Root, Monte L.
Monte L. Root, 68, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, from malignant melanoma at his home surrounded by his family. A joint “Celebration of Life” for Monte and his son, Matt, who died Aug. 25, 2008, will be held Sunday, Feb. 6, at the Belle Plaine Community Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Ohio Cemetery, Ladora.
Monte is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Root of Orlando, Fla., and Stephanie Stock of Buckingham, Iowa; son, Josh (Michelle) of Oxford; grandchildren, Colin and Sophia; and sister, Katherine Shaull of Tipton.
Memorials may be given to Essence of Life Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
