Bradley James Birtcher, 63, of Iowa City, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 W. Marengo Rd., Tiffin, Iowa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Tiffin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa or the Bradley Birtcher Memorial Fund.
Bradley was born on March 20, 1955, in Iowa City, the son of Joseph W. and Beverly J. (Ingham) Birtcher. He was a jack of all trades, working various jobs, including managing maintenance at multiple trailer courts and cutting meat at the Tiffin Locker. His last job was working at Home Depot in Des Moines. Bradley loved his family and friends. They affectionately gave him the nickname "Birdie." He enjoyed watching old Western movies, riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and horses. Bradley enjoyed helping others, no matter how small or large the project was.
Bradley is survived by his four children, Nicholas Birtcher of Kalona, Iowa, Amber Mullaly (James) of Dayton, Ohio, Amanda Folger of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Robert Birtcher of Iowa City, Iowa; six grandchildren; mother, Beverly Birtcher of North Liberty, Iowa; two sisters, Josie (David) Birtcher-Walker and Jayna Dozier, both of North Liberty; and many extended family.
Bradley was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Birtcher Sr.; brother, Joseph Birtcher Jr.; and a grandchild, Katie Rose Birtcher.
