Spratt, James Patrick
James Patrick Spratt, 67, of Charleston, S.C., the husband of Barbara Spratt, entered into eternal peace on Sept. 24, 2009, at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1942, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of the late Mervin Martin Spratt and Mary Kathleen Spratt. A true gentleman, father and patriot, Jim proudly served in the United States Army from 1965-1967 while stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.
On Feb. 15, 1969, Jim married the love of his life, Barbara; they soon had their two loving daughters, Shannon and Shawna. The single most important thing in Jim's life was his family. He truly dedicated his life to his loving wife, Barbara, and two daughters. They in turn loved him unconditionally.
Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Shannon and Shawna; two grandchildren, Bailey and Christian; and two brothers, Mickey and Billy.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Kathleen Spratt; his sister, Cookie; and his brother, Marty.
Services were held in Charleston and he was buried at The Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, cards to the family may be sent to P.O. Box 233, Ladson, SC 29456.
