Oxford woman accused of assaulting husband with beer bottle

An Oxford woman was arrested on charges of domestic abuse assault with intent or displaying a weapon at 12:34 a.m. Wednesday morning after authorities say she physically assaulted her husband at their home.
According to Johnson County Sheriff's Office reports, Callista A. Parmenter, 26, allegedly assaulted her husband with a 40-ounce beer bottle, punched him in the face and displayed a large kitchen knife in a threatening manner. Authorities say that Parmenter also allegedly held a second kitchen knife to her husband's neck.
The man had bruising, red marks and a small cut after the alleged incident.
Two young children were also present in the home when the assault occurred, reports indicated.
Parmenter was being held at the Johnson County Jail Wednesday morning, awaiting her initial appearance before a judge.
Domestic abuse assault with intent or displaying a weapon is an aggravated misdemeanor, punishable by up to two years in prison and a maximum $6,250 fine.
