Podcast: 'On The Record' talks to Johnson County sheriff, assistant Linn County prosecutor about gun bill proposal

This installment of On the Record talks about the gun bill, House File 517, which was approved Thursday by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The bill includes a stand-your-ground provision that allows the use of deadly force for self-defense anywhere a gun owner can lawfully carry. The bill could also overrule local gun bans and if gun bans are enforced, counties could be sued by preventing gun owners the right to carry.

The guests for this podcast are Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek and First Assistant Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks, who both have concerns with the provisions of the bill regarding public safety.
