Gendreau, Ryan M.
Ryan M. Gendreau of Sabula, Iowa, was an amazing father and friend; he was available 24 hours a day for his friends and family. He was 35 years old when he entered his eternal life on Oct. 20, 2013, in Arkansas following a motorcycle accident. Ryan was with family and friends in Arkansas on a 4th annual trip.
Ryan was born July 10, 1978, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Steven and Pamela (Mangler) Gendreau. He attended East Central High School and graduated with the class of 1997. Ryan later attended Clinton Community and the University of Dubuque, where he received his Associate of Art degree. He married Patsy Knake on Sept. 9, 2006, in Wyoming, Iowa. Ryan owned and operated a jukebox and vending route in Independence, Iowa for several years. He currently operated a vending route in Clinton.
Ryan enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and attending NASCAR races annually in Joliet with his family. He loved vintage vehicles and was in the process of restoring a 1957 Chevy pickup that would eventually become his son, Ayden's. Ryan was talented at many things, but the thing he was best at was being a dad.
Ryan will be forever missed by his wife, Patsy; two children, Ayden and Michaela; father, Steven (Connie) Gendreau of Sabula; mother, Pamela (Paul) Giunta of Hazel Green, Wis.; two brothers, Eric (Melissa) Gendreau of Frederic, Wis., and Joshua Gendreau of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; one grandfather, Lloyd (Carolyn) Mangler of Sabula.
Ryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Church of God in Mount Carroll, Ill. Burial will take place in Miles Cemetery, Miles, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Ryan Gendreau Benefit Fund has been established at R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, Savanna, in Ryan's memory.
