Forsyth, Elvis M. Hinz
Elvis M. Hinz Forsyth, 89, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at the Vinton Lutheran Home following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Presbyterian Church in Vinton, with the Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St. in Vinton, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Elvis was born Dec. 26, 1923, near Brandon, to Henry and Grace (Henkel) Hinz. On Dec. 21, 1939, she was united in marriage to Laurence Forsyth in Davenport. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2003.
Elvis was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Vinton. She loved flowers, birds and her lake home, and enjoyed working with the public at Lane's Jewelry, a flower shop and at Travis Hardware in Vinton.
She is survived by her son, Randy (Cindy) Forsyth of Vinton; her two grandchildren, Nate Forsyth and fiancee Shawna Birchmeier of Iowa Falls and Emily Forsyth and friend Blair Azinger of Madison, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Hinz.
