Nazette, M. Joan
M. Joan Nazette, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Cottage Grove Place. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. at the chapel.
Survivors include her son, Randy (Sally) Nazette of Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Adam (Julie) Nazette and Andrew Nazette; stepgrandchildren, Jennifer, Jourdan and Shane Jiruska; and great-grandsons, Ryan, Brandon and Tyler Nazette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and son, Ronald.
Joanie was born May 30, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, to Lester and Mabel Chehak. She met and married Richard at the University of Iowa in 1942. She and Richard enjoyed the Hawkeyes and their home in Florida. Joanie loved being “Nanny” to her boys. She was a member of PEO and the Monday League.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Cottage Grove and Hospice of Mercy for the wonderful care provided to Joanie.
Joanie loved roses so in her honor, please give roses to someone you love.
Due to recent construction, it is required that visitors to Cedar Memorial enter making a right turn from west bound First Avenue (heading toward downtown).
