Robert R. "Bobby" Geiger, 55, of Dyersville, formerly of Vinton, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with the Rev. Mark Leckband officiating. Committal services will be in Garrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Vinton.
A memorial fund has been established.
Robert was born Aug. 23, 1958, in Vinton, to Robert Earl and Judith Ann (Grau) Geiger. On Feb. 11, 1979, he was united in marriage to Jackie Martin in Garrison. He owned a heavy equipment construction business.
Surviving "Bobby" are his wife, Jackie Geiger of Dyersville; his mother, Judy Pfranger of Texas; his grandma, Josephine Geiger of Vinton; his daughter, Bobbie Jo (Aaron) Hansen of St. Peters, Mo.; his son, Andy (Ashley) Geiger of Farley; and his brothers, James Geiger of Dandridge, Tenn., and Mike (Jodi) Geiger of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his "hero" – dad, Robert in 1986, and his grandpas, Warren and Hank.
