Meythaler, Ida
Ida L. Meythaler, 101, of Independence, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at West Village Care Center, Independence, following a short illness. She was born April 13, 1909, in Buchanan County, near Rowley, Iowa, the daughter of Peter Clausen and Anna Marguerite (Schleeter) Thedens. On June 24, 1930, she and Harold Wilbur Meythaler were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Mrs. Meythaler is survived by one daughter, Janice (Gordon) Esbeck of Tipton; and two sons, Don (Vicki) Meythaler of Independence, and Robert (Judy) Meythaler of Grinnell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Independence. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call for visitation after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements.
