Reed, Eugene John
Eugene John Reed, 86, died Saturday morning, April 3, 2010, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield with Father Stephen Page and Father Rich Adam officiating. Interment will be in the Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery in Clear Creek. Visitation will be today at the Saint Mary Catholic Church starting at 4 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m.
Eugene was born March 19, 1924 in Ollie to Sam and Mary Sieren Reed. He married Oda Violet Elizabeth Adam on November 6, 1945 at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Oda, on January 3, 2009; one infant son, Larry; one brother, Charles Reed; four sisters, Marietta Horras, Marie Horras, Roseanna Klaub, and Helen Reed.
He is survived by three sons, Tom Reed and his wife, Linda, of Athens, Ga., Dick Reed and his wife, Kathy, of Hedrick, Harry Reed and his wife, Annette, of Riverside; four daughters, Deborah Hammes and her husband, Jack, of Richland, Becky Greiner and her husband, Steve, of Richland, Tena Adam and her husband, Nicholas, of Batavia, Mary Jo Clingan and her husband, Roger, of Batavia; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield,
Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Health Center: Memorial for Oda and Eugene Reed, Saint Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield for the Eugene Reed Fund, or to the Saint Peter and Paul Heritage Association.
