Rivalry Saturday boys' hoops schedule

The 2010 version. Event is December 18 at U.S. Cellular Center.

NORTH LIBERTY, IA – NOVEMBER 27TH, 2010:  Ten of the top high school boys' basketball teams from across Eastern Iowa will participate in this year's 2010 St. Luke's Sports Medicine Rivalry Saturday. This year's event is scheduled to take place Saturday December 18th, 2010 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, IA.   

The following teams have committed to participate in this year's event:  B-G-M, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Clear Creek Amana, Dyersville Beckman, H-L-V, Iowa City High, Linn-Mar, Maquoketa Valley, Mount Pleasant and Williamsburg. 

During the first three years of the event's history 13 participating teams have gone on to qualify for the state tournament the same season they participated in the event.  Four teams have gone on to capture a state title in their respective class the same year and two teams have earned runner-up finishes.

“As you can see from the talented teams that we've got lined up, our committee did an excellent job of securing some of the top teams in Eastern Iowa to be a part of this year's event,” Event Director Matt Haas stated.  “We are very excited about the 10 teams that will be playing in this year's St. Luke's Sports Medicine Rivalry Saturday, and we know they'll provide a full day of great basketball and fun for everyone in attendance.  We would like to thank our event sponsor, St. Luke's Sports Medicine, as this event would not be taking place without their sponsorship and support.”
