Jan. 4, 2016 4:47 pm
Two Cedar Falls men who downloaded and possessed child pornography were sentenced to federal prison last week.
Frank Martinez, 50, was sentenced to over 10 years in prison after pleading guilty Aug. 10 to one count of receipt of child pornography. His husband, Donald Wall, 51, received over six years in prison after he pleaded guilty Aug. 21 to one count of possession of child pornography.
Evidence at the sentencing hearings on Dec. 31, showed that both men used the internet to download the explicit images and photos.
U.S. District Chief Judge Linda Reade also ordered Martinez a fine of $10,000 and $2,500 in restitution. Wall also was fined $10,000. Each defendant must serve a 10-year term of supervised release following prison time and must comply with all sex offender registration and public notification requirements.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Tremmel and was investigated by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
