Republicans will criticize Obama in any scenario
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 11, 2009 12:14 am
People who hate President Obama would have found a way to criticize his involvement in the Olympics bid no matter what he did. There were four possible scenarios:
If he went to Copenhagen and Chicago won, they'd have said it was a corrupt payback to his crooked friends in Chicago.
If he went to Copenhagen and Chicago lost, they'd say he wasted his time and taxpayer money flying there because he's an egomaniac.
If he didn't go to Copenhagen and Chicago lost, they'd accuse him of not supporting America, and it cost us the Games.
If he didn't go to Copenhagen and Chicago won, they'd say, see, things work best when he doesn't screw them up.
Republicans boast of being patriotic Americans, yet they are so anxious for the president to “fail” they cheer when millions of Americans are disappointed.
That they have sunk to such a level of defeatism speaks volumes on the degenerate state of the GOP.
