McKee, Mavis Lynn
Mavis Lynn McKee, 61, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk after a lifetime of medical problems. Mavis can now rest peacefully without pain and suffering. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, with a service celebrating Mavis's life to follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Norman Bales will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mavis Lynn McKee was born Feb. 24, 1950, in Glencoe, Minn., the daughter of Harry and Mamie (Johnson) McKee. She was the 12th child of 12. Mavis graduated from Glencoe High School.
Those left to honor her memory include her siblings, Arlene Warner of Davenport, Marie McKee of Owatonna, Minn., Dee McKee of Edina, Minn., Elizabeth (Cliff) Wolf of Owatonna, Minn., Charles (Etoyle) McKee of Floresville, Texas and Richard McKee of Tacoma, Wash.; and various sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Lexington Square in Keokuk for their kindness and loving care and also the staff and doctors at the Keokuk Hospital. Special thanks to all those who helped Mavis when she lived in the Cedar Rapids area, especially Dianna Wiese. Thanks also to the members of Central Church of Christ who continually supported her with their prayers and cards over the years.
