Joy J. Batterson, 85, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her residence in Washington following a short illness. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating. Visitation will begin 2 p.m. Thursday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
Memorials have been established for the United Presbyterian Church or Washington County Hospice.

Joy is survived by her husband, Dean Batterson of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Dee Hunerdosse of Grimes, Iowa; two grandsons, Mitchell and Jackson Huner-dosse of Grimes; brother, Wallace "Wally" Fairchild and wife Joan of Oelwein; and sister-in-law, Fern Fairchild of St. John, Kan.
