Marion teen hurt in crash near Mount Vernon

A Marion teenager was hurt Thursday afternoon when the car he was riding in overturned near Mount Vernon.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, a sport-utility vehicle driven by Patrick McManigal, 18, of Solon was northbound on Rosedale Road, just north of Mount Vernon, at 2:28 p.m. Thursday when the car slid into the west ditch and flipped over.
A passenger in the car, Devin Gamm, 16, of Marion, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for treatment. His injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening, officials said.
Gamm wasn't wearing a seat belt, officials said.
McManigal was cited for failure to maintain control.
