Hinz, Mary F.
Mary F. Hinz, 91, of Palo, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Private family services. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mary is survived by her husband, Mark of Shellsburg; daughters, Marcia (Edward) Rich of Lockridge, Sue (Ronald) Roberts of Birmingham and Sherry Zelinski (Brad) of Bayfield, Colo.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Alfred Gustafson of Vinton.
Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Jean Gustafson; and brother, Paul Gustafson.
Mary Francis was born Feb. 27, 1919, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Emil Leander and Eva Lavina (Blood) Gustafson. She married Marcellus “Mark” Paul Hinz on Nov. 1, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. Mary enjoyed flowers, gardening, and above all her grandchildren.
