French, Marilyn J.
Marilyn J. French, 69, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Friends and family may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marilyn is survived by her two children, Doug (Lori) French of Marion and Lisa (Rick) Roberts of Van Meter; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Roberts, Kelsey Roberts, Emily Roberts and Caitlyn French; a brother, Robert Sortor of Manchester, Mo.; and many loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne French; parents, Floyd and Iva May Sortor; and two brothers, George Sortor and Everett Sortor.
Marilyn J. French was born July 15, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Iva May (Randall) Sortor. Marilyn and Dwayne French were married April 8, 1962, at First United Methodist Church in Marion.
Above all, her greatest enjoyment was that of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations in Marilyn's honor may be directed to the family.
