Roberts, Earl Keyes
Earl Keyes Roberts, 66, of Hiawatha, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his family. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Earl was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Pauls Valley, Okla., the son of Lonnie and Rosetta (Putman) Roberts. He married Vicki Medulan on Nov. 5, 1988, in Dubuque. Earl was an over-the-road truck driver for over 48 years. He most recently drove for Brecht Trucking in Marion. Earl enjoyed camping, fishing, visiting the casino and spending time with his family and friends.
Earl is survived by his wife, Vicki; his children, Darrell (Sherri) Dugger of Wills Point, Texas, Tabitha Burt of Cedar Rapids, Delta Schnepp of Cedar Rapids, Tonya (Lane) Holten of Atkins, Sherri O'Connor (Mike Van Dresar) of Cedar Rapids, Mariette Ecker of Van Horne, Stephanie Forkner of Shellsburg and Brooke (Justin) Forkner of Independence; 19 grandchildren; brother, Lonnie Wayne Roberts of Dallas, Texas; and sisters, Alma Joyce Ward of Norman, Okla. and Faye Simons of Bridgeport, Texas.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tammy Marie Roberts; grandsons, Justin Lee Dugger and Austin Michael Van Dresar; as well as his two brothers and five sisters.
