Mary Anne Schupanitz Roberts, 82, of Marion, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mary was born Oct. 24, 1932, to J. Evans and Marguerite (Schubert) Barnett in Milwaukee, Wis. She was united in marriage to Charles Herman Roberts in Cedar Rapids on Aug. 1, 1981. Mary worked as a dispatcher for Kleen-Leen for many years.
Mary enjoyed em-broidery, playing bridge and swimming. She loved to crochet and knit, making many afghans with love for her family members. She also enjoyed collecting bells, angels and eagles.
Mary is survived by five sons, Paul (Liz) Schupanitz of Plymouth, Minn., Peter (Debbie) Schupanitz of Littleton, Colo., Joseph (Cindy) Schupanitz of Cedar Rapids, Matthew (Cathy) Schupanitz of Littleton, Colo., and Luke Schupanitz of Lakewood, Colo.; three stepchildren, Sue (John) Wilson, Jake (Judy) Roberts and Tim (Deb) Roberts; five grandchildren, Nathan (Kamisha) Schupanitz of Cedar Rapids, Sarah Mounier of Denver, Colo., Andy Schupanitz of Santa Cruz, Calif., Sarah Schupanitz of St. Louis, Mo., and Mitchell Schupanitz of Littleton, Colo.; a great-grandson, Jace Schupanitz of Cedar Rapids; six stepgrandchildren; sister-in-law, Colleen Barnett of St. Paul, Minn.; the father of her children, John Schupanitz of Cedar Rapids; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles, in 1986; grandson, Brandon Schupanitz; and brother, John Barnett.
