Meyer, Robert C. 'Bob'
Robert C. “Bob” Meyer, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at his home after a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at King of Kings Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark Halvorson will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife, Marge; four sons, Bruce (Kirsten) of Rolling Bay, Wash., Damon of Hiawatha, Todd (Diana) of Marion and Kevin and his fiancee, Melanie, of Jasper, Ind.; two sisters, Carol (Bob) Lake of Iowa City and Janice (Bill) Duzan of Jonesboro, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Phyllis, Arlene and Dorothy; and a daughter-in-law, Kim.
Bob was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Lowden, the son of Hugo and Alice Kroemer Meyer. He married Marjorie E. Breon on March 27, 1965, in Hedrick. Bob worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for over 28 years, retiring in 1998. He was a faithful member of King of Kings Lutheran Church, Eagles Club, AMVETS in Lowden and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Bob enjoyed travel, baseball and was an avid Cardinal fan. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his beloved family and many, many friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Bob's name.
